Earns the top rank amongst energy retailers in the nation and ranked the fastest growing company in Houston
HOUSTON – Discount Power has earned the 80th spot on Inc. magazine’s 34th Annual Inc. 5000 list, the definitive ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. This accomplishment has been achieved by a select group of private companies, with past recipients including Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, Intuit, Chobani, Oracle, and Zappos.com.
“We are honored to be included on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America as the 80th fastest growing company in the country, the fastest growing company in Houston, and the fastest growing retail energy provider in the nation,” said Chief Executive Officer of Discount Power, Neville Ravji. “This recognition is testament to our near-fanatical focus on the customer – we understand, help and appreciate each and every customer that we have. This has led to us offering our customers the best plans and the best customer service in the state of Texas. We are on track for even greater growth in the coming years.”
Ranking on the Inc. 5000 list is one of many accomplishments for Discount Power in 2016. Earlier this year, they also crossed the 50,000 customer threshold, in addition to crossing the 100,000 RCEs (Residential Customer Equivalent) count. In addition, Discount Power also announced that revenues for 2015 were greater than $50MM and are expected to cross $100MM in 2016.
“Being recognized on the Inc. 5000 list would not have been possible without the experienced and dedicated team that we are fortunate to have. It is the hard work and customer-focused orientation of each member of the team that has enabled us to surpass all goals and expectations,” said Mohsin Hassan, Chief Operating Officer at Discount Power. “This team is the best-in-class team in the industry.”
Discount Power is gearing up to launch in new market segments in Texas during the third and fourth quarters of 2016. In addition to new Texas markets, Discount Power has future plans to expand into new retail energy markets throughout the United States.
Originally introduced as the Inc. 500 in 1982, the list was later expanded to the Inc. 5000 in 2007. Today, the Inc. 5000 showcases the top-performing privately held companies in the nation based on overall revenue growth over the course of a three-year period.
